Elizabeth was walking towards the park where she used to hang out as a kid. She had wonderful memories of this park. Memories of her first basketball lesson with Troy. When she first learned how to ride a bike. She also had some bad memories. This park was where she fell off the monkey bars and broke her wrist and it was in a cast for a couple of weeks.
Elizabeth had a basketball at her side. Basketball ran in the family and she loved playing basketball too. Elizabeth went towards the basketball court and began shooting hoops. She had a smile on her face the whole time. She was glad to be back in New Mexico. She loved to feel the sun beating down on her.
Elizabeth was wearing short shorts and a halter top. After playing in the sun for 10 minutes sweat was forming on her forehead. It was running down her back and she was out of breath. She was running up and down the court doing lay-ups and shooting 3 pointers and such. It was one of those times in whihc she wished she had grabbed a water bottle from home.

Ryan had been ecstatic when Troy had come up to him saying that Lizzie was back, he almost felt like a little kid at that moment, already plotting all the things they could do when they saw each other again. As he drove down the road now, he didn't need to ask where Lizzie Bolton would go if given the chance, after all, she was a Bolton.
He ran his hand through his hair, just glad to be away from Lava Spring even if for the afternoon, he had a lot of thinking to do at the moment, and he was preffering to do it without Sharpay near him, being that he was thinking most about her lately. Shaking his head again, he made the sharp turn down the gravel drive that lead to where the basketball courts were set up, just past the swings and jungle gym. He had to get his mind on something else and that was exactly what he was going to do.
When he pulled into one the many free spaces, in the parking lot, he gave his head one last shake, trying to get his thoughts focused again as he pulled the keys from the ignition. Keep it together, Ryan. The thoughts swirling in his head once more, as he pulled the lever on his door and stepped out of the car. He took a deep breath and then looked over to the court, grinning ear to ear at the figure he say. "Hey Bolton," He bellowed, cupping his mouth in his hands. "You know you're going to get sweaty doing that." He quipped, knowing that she wasn't much of one to care for that type of problem.

Elizabeth heard a car pull up but she didn't think anything of it. All that matter now was her and the basketball. She kept on shooting until she heard a voice calling her. Elizabeth turned around and saw her friend, Ryan Evans. Elizabeth put a hand over her eyes just to make sure that it really was Ryan and not a figment of her imagination. When she realized it was really him a smile broke out on her face. She set down the basketball.
"Come on Evans! You know I don't care about that! Now get over here!" Elizabeth called out to Ryan. Ryan had been there for Elizabeth when things got hard for her. When people made fun of her because of her glasses, acne and braces. Now that she got rid of the glasses and braces and got her acne cleared up she wondered if anyone would notice. Elizabeth put her hands on her hips waiting for him to come over. While she waited she wondered what they were going to talk about. After all they did have a lot to catch up on.

Ryan chuckled with another shake of his head and slowly made his way over the low slung fencing with a careful step, and stumbling slightly as he stepped firmly back onto the pavement. "Honestly, just couldn't wait to get out to the courts again?" He quipped with raised eyebrows as he neared where she was standing.
He pointed at her, noticing the slight glistening sweat on her, his eyes cautiously scanning over her. "Only for you," He started slowly. "You're the only sweaty person I'd ever hazard a hug for." He said, still pointing at her in mock sterness as he neared even closer and pulled her into a quick hug, really having missed her after all this time.
When he broke the hug, he couldn't help but grin again, being back here, it was almost like nothing had changed, even when so much in their lives had. He could remember back to when they were younger, she was his only best friend outside of Sharpay, but having her back seemed right at this moment, when everything was coming back together again; everything felt normal again. "So, god, how long has it been, Lizzie?" He asked, trying to think of the last time he saw her, knowing it had been too long.

"Nope. I mean courts aren't the same everywhere ya know. This court holds memories that I can only get while I'm here," Elizabeth said smiling as he came closer to where she was standing. She noticed that he hadn't changed a bit.
When Ryan pulled her into a hug she wrapped her arms around him. She missed him. He always did give the best hugs, well besides her cousin, "And you being a dancer and all who's used to the sweat. I can't believe this little bit of sweat bothers you," Elizabeth said hugging him.
"It's been 4 years," Elizabeth said, "4 long years away from everyone. I missed being here. I missed seeing you and Sharpay and Troy. How is Troy anyway? I thought he would have been the first to come out to see us but I guess not." Elizabeth looked at Ryan and noticed that he still hasn't changed. Sure he'd grown but clothing wise, he's still the same Ryan as he was 4 years ago.

(( Sorry I didn't answer this sooner, my only excuse is that at the moment I'm just finishing up my first year of college and have a lot of stuff to deal with at the moment))
Ryan felt his happy expression harden when Lizzie mentioned Troy, it was as if a slow cringe was coming over him just at the mention of the older Bolton. He had been friends with both Lizzie and Troy, but he never got along too great with Troy given the fact Troy was everything he never was even at a young age, and Sharpay's persistent infatuation since only god knows when was a constant source of strain with them.
"Umm, sorry I don't really keep up on Troy anymore," He answered into a slight shrug as he scratched the back of his head, looking off slightly towards the park. "I don't know how much you've heard of the golden boy, Mr. Winter Musical." He said in a masked bitter tone, still trying to get over what had happened once. "He has a girlfriend though, and this one isn't even a cheerleader." He said in a slight chuckle as he nodded his head, at least finding a slight positive in Troy that he was dating Gabi.
He looked off again slightly, feeling that same slight unexplainable pang of confusion, shrugging it off again like it was nothing, just like every single other day this week. That was his newest practiced routine, denial. "Sharpay's the same old Sharpay though." He said forcing a playful roll of his eyes and looking back to Lizzie with a small grin. "But that's the usual stuff, what about you?" He asked with attentiveness in his face as he looked at her intrigued, walking slowly to go and sit on a grassy patch near the courts; she'd probably done loads of exciting things outside of Albuquerque.

Elizabeth looked at Ryan with confusion, "But I thought you two got along so well. When we were younger you two always hung out with each other, along with me, " Elizabeth said. Whenever Elizabeth, Troy and Ryan hung out they always talked and were nice to each other. She couldn't see why he wouldn't talk to him anymore.
When she heard him say 'Mr. Winter Musical' her eye brows rose, "Troy? My cousin Troy? In a musical? That's a bit crazy. I'd never expect him for a musical type of person," Elizabeth said. When she heard him say that he had a girlfriend, "Really? Is she nice? Well obviously she must be nice, she isn't a cheerleader." Elizabeth hated all the girls Troy used to date. They were all snobs, and almost all were cheerleaders.
"Ah, the drama queen. Still keeping up with it," Elizabeth said smiling. When she heard Ryan ask about her, her eyes brightened. She followed him and sat down, "New York was amazing! My parents bought me tickets, or tried to buy me tickets, once a week, if not once a month to see a show on Broadway. I kept thinking how much you would have loved it Ry. And I got my first boyfriend. I left him back in New York. We're still dating, we're trying the long distance thing." Elizabeth's eyes sparkled when she mentioned her boyfriend, "I've been to the TRL set, Times Square, Madison Square Garden, Rockafeller Center and I've even been inside the NBC and ABC studio's."
(( It's okay. Really. If you read what I said in the C-Box I'm really sorry. I'm just in a bad mood because I'm in alot of pain. So please I didn't really mean it and I'm not really that mean in real life ))

Ryan couldn't help but chuckle slightly when he watched Lizzie's excitement peaking in her face, she seemed so dazed and happy, it was any wonder why she would have come back to Albuquerque and leave all that behind. "New York City is great," Ryan offered with a nod smiling; New York was the typical place to stop before heading off to Lava Springs for the summer, but they really didn't go the typical tourist route. "I've never been to any of the studios though, so I'll just have to take your word for it." He nodded again, turning his gaze back to her when he noticed the still dazed look on her face when she mentioned her boyfriend. "If you had so much in New York, why come back in the first place?" He asked, genuinely curious why someone would trade to come back here of all places, what kind of excitement could be had inside the city limits of Albuquerque, especially after living in one of the most exciting places in the world. "And don't give me that change of scenery nonsense." He muttered, pointing at her with jokingly narrowed eyes, leaning his palms back further onto the grass as he chuckled. (( I understand completely, no worries, we all have off days... if I get to off this thread again feel free to just let me know, sometimes my brain just wanders and forgets haha))

"I tried to get my mom to let you come visit us so you could experience Broadway. My parents actually got me to meet the cast of a few shows. And afterwards they took me to a recording studio so that was really cool," Elizabeth said smiling. Whenever Lizzie talked about New York she couldn't help but get excited.
Lizzie looked down, "I came back because I missed everyone. Sure I had friends but they weren't the same as the friends here. You guys are amazing to me and very special in my life. Everyone knew that I missed you guys. I mean I would have really off days and just walk around school like a zombie because I missed you guys so much," Lizzie said softly, "But the real reason is because my dad's job transfered him back here."

Ryan chuckled at the mention of Broadway, fighting back to urge to defend that he, along with Sharpay of course, had probably seen more Broadway shows than people twice his age, it came with the dedication of knowing your craft. He nodded along slightly, deciding it wasn't the time or place to let his theatre queer flag fly just yet. "Broadway sure is something," He muttered happily. "I'll spare you the dork rant and just leave it at that." He said shortly into a chuckle, knowing he could ramble for days about any of the current shows.
Ryan then slowly turned his attention back to the conversation at hand versus the tangent he was going on in his head about casts and revivals shows and recordings of all the shows that seemed to populate his mind at any given moment. "Oh, your dad transferred?" He asked, but not without a small smile coming across his face when she mentioned missing everyone, it was odd for him even now to feel even the slightest. "Where's he working now?" He asked plucking the grass beside him, knowing that Lizzie's dad was the more successful of the Bolton Family.

"Ry, you know I love listening to you talk about Broadway. None of my other friends, back in New York, talked about Broadway like you do," Lizzie said smiling. That was one thing she missed. It was listening to Ryan and sometimes Sharpay, but mostly Ryan, rant about Broadway and the shows on Broadway. Even though it did tend to get annoying, which was only a few times, it was fun to listen to.
"Yeah he got transferred," Lizzie said, "He's some Co-President of a company that is run by the government I think. I don't really know much about it but that's probably because it's like top-secret stuff. Since it is for the government." Lizzie really didn't pay attention when her dad had told her, back in New York, what job he was taking back in New Mexico. She was too excited about going back to care.
