Ryan let out a sigh of relief as he finally made it up to the landing of the Evans' Suite, just glad to finally be away from it all. The party was supposed to be fun, a way to announce the middle of summer, this was supposed to be the turning point.
When he turned the handle to his bedroom door, pushing open his door slowly, he couldn't help but linger on the same words that Sharpay had spoken to him all those weeks ago now.
Everything Changes.
As he closed the door behind him, he couldn't help but think that the simple phrase that he had scoffed at and rolled his eyes to, it had become the very thing that he had soon learned to hate, because just like she said, everything had changed.
He ran his hand through his hair, feeling that slightly empty feeling again, he had been so ready to cut her off, and yet the more he thought about not speaking to Sharpay, the worse he felt about it all. He shook his head as he reached into the closet, pulling out one of the random t-shirts that were hanging neatly on his hanger. Pulling it over his head, he couldn't help but muse to himself that all that he had changed so far this summer was his shirt, but even that slight cheesiness on his part wasn't enough to make light of the mood.
There was nothing he could do now, it didn't matter, he was resigned to this reality, the one where Ryan Evans was a Wildcat. Even repeating it now in his head, it just felt wrong, but that would be something he'd get over in time. He walked over to his bed and flopped down heavily and sighed, letting his eyes close.
Time would be enough to fix all his problems, that's all, just time.

Sharpay held the yellow towel tighter around her when the air conditioned room suddenly made her shiver. She felt so cold, both outside and inside, which is really ironic since it's summertime, it's supposed to be warm and everyone should be happy and enjoying the short vacation. So probably not everyone can have the summer they had dreamed of, and she was the last person she had thought about that would end up having a summer like that. She was starting to think she had to list down the things that she was wrong about, but she hated being wrong like she hated iced tea that doesn't have enough ice.
She followed the trail of water droplets that Ryan had left behind and noticed that it led to his room...in their suite. She took a deep breath and stomped harder as she neared his door, not able to control her temper anymore as her frustration filled her mind once more. She grabbed his door handle and held her breath, before pushing his door open and closing it behind her immediately. She closed her eyes for a moment hoping to calm herself down, and when she slowly opened it, she saw Ryan on his bed, his eyes closed. For a moment, she had forgotten about what she had come up here for as she looked at how peaceful he seemed. But then she knew she had to do it now, and not later, she wouldn't delay this anymore.
"Tell me Ryan, what else do I need to do so you can forgive me and forget about everything that had happened?" She almost yelled at him as she stomped towards his bed, shaking her head slightly. Somehow, this reminded her of the time she had caught him rehearsing with the rest of them. "I've already given you that stupid award, I already mingled with your new so-called friends, and I've even forgotten about the fact that you all have embarrassed me in front of all those people. What else do I have to do? Should I get down on my knees and beg?" She placed her hands on her hips, looking at Ryan with disbelief in her eyes. She didn't really expect that they would come to this...they were the inseparable twins, they were strong together. She knew it was her mistake, but she was now doing her part.
"Is it too late for us to change again?" She asked, more calmly now as she looked away from him. She then noticed she was slightly shaking as the towel fell off from her shoulders.

Ryan almost fell from the bed when he heard Sharpay's voice echo angrily around the room, the sound of her stomping across the floor only made him cringe with every step, thinking that she might just punch him, she seemed angry enough for those rash actions. He sat up lightly on his bed, swinging his legs off the side and eyeing her, trying not to seem fazed by her screaming, trying to keep himself calm from what she was saying, but he could feel his emotions starting to build in his chest as he started to process what she was saying.
"Do you really think that's what it's about?" He asked with an incredulous face, almost not believing what he was hearing from her, this was the Sharpay everyone else saw, this shouldn't be the same Sharpay he saw, they were supposed to be different. "Do you think it's about giving me some dumb award?" He asked again, grabbing the small plastic statue from the side of his bed. "Well, screw your stupid award," He yelled out in slight anger as he heaved the trophy at the wall. "Did you think that meant anything, I mean what does a stupid plastic trophy mean anyways, did you think that would be some grand gesture of apology?" He asked angrily, staring at her, trying to assess how she could think that would be enough to fix it. "Face it sis, you replaced me, and you replaced me with Troy Bolton, of all people." He said, now feeling the same pain bottling up again.
His mind wandered back to all those days after they lost the leads in the musical, trying not to regret having lost their niches in the high school scene, but soon enough they had been replaced by Troy and Gabriella in the one thing they had felt safe in. "Do you know what that's like?" He asked again looking down at his feet, trying not to make eye contact with her. "You can hang out with them all you want, and give me a thousand trophies, you can do whatever," His voice petered out, breaking slightly as he felt stupid for getting mad at something so trivial. "I don't..." He broke off again, running his hand through his hair again. He couldn't even form the words that were in his head now, so desperately wanting to ask so many reasons for why he'd been so easy to replace, and why she seemed to care so little about what she'd done.
He cleared his throat again, his eyes flitting up to her slowly, noticing that she too had now looked away from him. "It's not too late yet, I don't think." He said into a slow nod, trying to calm all the emotions he was feeling at the moment. "I'm...I'm willing to fix whatever we need to do get us back to normal." He started speaking softer. "I just want my sister back." He spoke in a near whisper, his legs shaking slightly as he sat on the bed, waiting with baited breath for something, anything to go wrong.

Sharpay cringed as she heard the sound of the trophy hitting the wall hard, the Star Dazzle trophy that she had given up for him. She was taken aback by his yelling though, that she stood there motionless, and she couldn't even look at him. She just couldn't let her defense down right now. But she could feel her wall slowly breaking when Ryan brought up Troy. It was the one thing that she still couldn't admit to herself, but she knew he was right. She had pushed Ryan away just so she could sing with Troy, and look at what it has done. She didn't even get her wish, and worse, she had lost the one and only person that has really been there for her. Her one true partner.
She felt like she was being hit with each word that he was saying, and she was pained in hearing the pain in his voice too. They had never been like this, and she had never saw Ryan hurt this bad and it made her feel so terrible. The one and only person to cause him this pain was her. Now she understands why he is so upset with her, she had been really stupid and selfish, and here he is, still being sensitive with her, still the old Ryan. So he really was not the one who changed, she did, and now she felt really stupid. There is clearly no one else here to blame but herself.
It was the softness in Ryan's voice that made her break down the walls completely and let her tears fall. She met his eyes for a moment, and when she couldn't take it anymore, she ran towards him, flinging her arms around him. "I'm so sorry, Ry," she sobbed violently against his shoulder, finally letting her emotions out as she held on tightly to him. She now realized how much she had missed the feeling of being this close to Ryan again.

Ryan looked up slightly, his legs still shaking painfully, trying to figure out what the exact cause was, whether it be his emotions, or the fact he was still in mostly wet clothing, or maybe just the melding together, he couldn't help but continue to suffer from mild shakes and shudders, not wanting to look her in the eyes yet. It was something about looking Sharpay in the eyes, something that just seemed to honest in that moment, and he didn't even know if he could handle that yet.
He was so braced for it, for her to keep yelling at him and storm away, or expecting her to hit him for having thrown the trophy, which he was already regretting, or even worse would be if she just walked away, he didn't need this moment to be all for not. He cleared his throat softly, they hadn't fought like this in a long time, then again it was starting to seem even longer since they last talked, he couldn't help but forget the last time he had spoken a real sentence to her.
He opened his mouth to speak, to say anything, he felt like he should apologize for his rash actions over the past few minutes, he felt stupid now that he'd gotten that mad, it really shouldn't have been as big a deal as he had made it, he was just being immature and childish. When he finally turned to look her in the eyes, he was shocked to see she was crying, that was the last thing he'd been expecting from her, especially since just mere minutes before he was more worried she was going to take off one of her heels and throw it at his head. "Shar," He spoke out softly, not sure of what to say next, feeling even number as he felt the sting in his chest again. He was even more shocked when without any warning she was right beside him, squeezing him so tightly, he felt as if she was going to crush all the air out of his chest.
He lifted his hand from the sides of the bed and hugged her as tight as he could, feeling the shoulder of his t-shirt now becoming wet again as he looked down at the top of her head; and to think he had just changed the shirt to be dry in the first place, seemed like that had done him no good. "Hey," His voice cracked out, a laugh of relief almost brimming in his chest, just glad that for once he felt like he had his sister with him. "You... you don't need to apologize," He admitted suddenly, which seemed slightly stupid since it was what he really wanted to hear from Sharpay, but now at the moment he would have paid anything to keep her from crying. "Tw-twins fight," He muttered out as he shook his head, a lump forming in his throat which he was going to credit to the fact they were twins, and it was rare that one of them could be upset without the other one soon following soon. "Y-y-you're going to get mascara stains on my shirt." He said moving his shoulder slightly before finally a letting a soft croaky laugh leave his throat. He let his eyes close, feeling a slight relief wash over him as he hugged her tight, sure they weren't fixed yet, and they'd have to work on lots of things, but the pure fact they had finally stopped avoiding their problems was enough to say they could start over.

Sharpay buried her head even more into Ryan's shoulder, now that she had let go of her tears, she couldn't stop them from flowing. She kept on shaking her head at his words, knowing that she owes him more than just a simple I'm sorry. "I was so stupid, and...and...so selfish," she mumbled, slightly choking on her words as she continued to cry. She hugged him even tighter when he tried to move, slightly laughing when he told her about the mascara stains. "I'll buy you a new one," she mumbled again, and as if to tease Ryan even more, she wiped the tears on his shirt before pulling away slightly, laughing at the mess she had made. "It's so last year anyway," she said with a grin, wiping more tears from her face with her one hand, her other arm still around Ryan.
Now this is the feeling that she had missed so much. Having Ryan beside her and just laughing and teasing him, and for once not caring about Troy, her title, her award, nothing. Just having fun with her brother. She placed her arm around Ryan again, and rested her head on his shoulder. "I missed you, Ry," she admitted, as she tightened her arms around him again as if she doesn't want to let go of him ever again. "I missed my brother too," she looked up at him with a smile. She sighed as she relished the feeling of being in his protective arms once again. It has been a while since they held each other like this, the night of the talent show made her missed this even more.
"Ry, if ever this happens again, just tell me when I've gone too far, but please please please don't leave me like that again," she looked up at Ryan with a pout on her face, silently pleading. "See, when you turned your back on me, that was what really made me tell myself that my life is over. I know, over-dramatic." She grinned, sticking her tongue out at him. "But that was true, since you're my one and only friend, and brother, and partner, and so when you left me, I had no one," memories from the night of the talent show still makes her frown slightly.

Ryan couldn't help but let out an even louder laugh, still croaking out of his throat as he freed one of his arms from around Sharpay to rub his forehead as he laughed. "Now that's the sister I know," He muttered out softly, still laughing slightly. "And I happen to like this shirt, thank you very much." He added with his voice still hoarse, eyeing his shoulder with slight discontent. When she rubbed her face even further into his shirt he couldn't help but laugh and cringe all at the same time, but at the same time he couldn't help but feel relieved, this was the Sharpay that he knew. That was what he had really been missing this whole summer, just something as simple as this moment sitting here, joking around as if nothing had ever happened, even when so much had.
He replaced his arm around her again, thinking that maybe he should be madder than this, maybe he shouldn't have forgiven her, but then looking back now, he wasn't the only victim. He couldn't help but shake his head, thinking that it served them no benefit when they were both behaving childish, but then again they were twins, so there was some inevitability in that. "I missed you too, Shar." He said as he leaned his head slightly on top of her, a soft smile finally cracking over his face for the first time in what he felt had been the longest of times.
Ryan looked down at the mention of his name, noting the slight pouting face she had on, it was in this moment it was his turn to feel some guilt for what he'd done. He could recall it now, how pained she looked when he walked away, just spouting off all the things that were coming to his mind. He shook his head again, looking down at her pityingly as he thought of how much pain he had wanted to cause her, he wanted to show her it could work both ways, but it hadn't exactly gone as planned and it had only made him more bitter and had only driven a further wedge between them. "Shar," He spoke softly, carefully calculating his words in his head, trying to best express how sorry he was for the pain he'd caused. "I swear I won't let it get that far again." He spoke softly into a light nod, hoping in earnest he could stay true to his words.

Sharpay relaxed even more into Ryan's arms, looking back deep into his eyes as she listened to his promise. She couldn't even think of what he has done wrong at that moment, in her mind she was the one who really messed up, and Ryan only acted like that because she started it. For once, she didn't mind admitting that it was her mistake, that she was the one on the wrong side. She wouldn't mind putting down her pride if needed, if it would result to being with Ryan like this again. In his arms, she felt what she had been longing for all along. Even though she could not really put it into words at the moment, she could say that was the best feeling in the world that it even beats being on stage and getting lots of applause, awards and recognitions. As Ryan held her close to him, she finally felt that she didn't really need Troy Bolton to be hers, that she didn't even need the Star Dazzle award, and that she didn't really need to get the lead roles in the musicals that much anymore. She just felt contented as if she really belongs there. It just felt like home.
"And I promise not to be so...evil...again," she said softly, chuckling slightly. "Hold on, I think the right word is to try." She chuckled again, shaking her head slightly. "But I'll start with you." She tapped Ryan's nose with a finger and giggled, before hugging him tight again. She looked into his eyes again, but this time, something felt different. It didn't feel the same as she did just a few minutes ago, it still felt wonderful actually, but this time around there was some kind of a spark. Something that she thought she would only feel with Troy Bolton, and that she would never feel around Ryan, of all people.
I probably just missed him too much...it's nothing. He's my twin brother, for goodness' sake. She slowly looked away from him, though she kept her arms tight around him. She couldn't easily ignore the way she felt though, since when she looked at him, she was starting to notice things about Ryan that she didn't really paid attention to before, like the beautiful shade of blue of his eyes that any girl are sure to fall for, and his lips...Sharpay had to stop her train of thought before it got too far. Somehow, as she continued holding him like that, the butterflies in her stomach gets wilder and wilder every minute, and she had to close her eyes to try and calm herself down. She just missed him, nothing more, nothing less. It's no big deal.

Ryan couldn't help but chuckle and rub his nose softly where Sharpay poked him lightly. When she spoke again, he couldn't help but look at her in slight confusion. "I never thought you were evil," He said with a beaming smile on his face, knowing that deep down that was true, she could do probably just about anything and no matter how mad he got, he'd still think the best of her. "I think you just got too, focused on something, but that's good, you know what you want." He said into a nod, knowing that once again that was true, and if he knew one thing, Sharpay almost always got what she wanted.
He looked down at his shirt for a minute, suddenly feeling how wet it was again, chuckling softly to himself that he had just changed it not even ten minutes before. "You got my shirt all sopping wet again." He muttered out in slight disdain, looking down at the mascara stains on his clean shirt. He removed his arms from around her lightly, placing his hands down onto the top of his bed, now realizing that sitting there in wet pool clothes had soaked his bed in a similar manner. He shook his head, muttering in his head thinking that he could sacrifice a dry bed and dry clothes so long as he had his sister back, she was worth it.
He looked over at her and shot her a look, mixed with slight abbhorence and playfulness. "I have to change my shirt again because of you." He said as he stuck his tongue out at her and then stood from the bed and strode over to his closet, pulling his wet shirt over his head again, tossing it nonchalantly amongst all his other dirty shirts. He rifled through the closet hangers trying to find another T-shirt in the jumble. "Hey Shar," He called out softly turning around to face her again. "Red shirt, or blue shirt?" He asked as he pulled two shirts out of his closet and held them in front of him, knowing that she'd be able to help him with his trivial dilema. He raised his eyebrows as he smiled at her, shaking the hangers back and forth lightly, chuckling slightly as he shivered in cold air conditioning.

Sharpay looked up at Ryan again, this time trying to ignore whatever weird feelings she has, and chuckled slightly. "Well, I told you I'll buy you a new one, so quit complaining," she said, grinning at him. She slowly removed her arms from around him, and the moment that they lost contact she suddenly felt empty. She placed her hands on her lap, and as she looked down on his bed, she grinned at how wet it was, and she suddenly remembered that she was still wet as well. She bent down and picked up the towel that she had dropped a few minutes ago from the floor and wrapped it again around her shoulders, suddenly feeling the coolness of the room when Ryan stood up to change his shirt.
"So you're shirt is far more important than your sister, huh?" She rolled her eyes playfully and stuck her tongue out at him. When he started to pull his shirt, she looked away slowly, an action that hasn't affected her before, now making her feel a little awkward and even embarrassed to the point that she can feel her cheeks warming up. When he called her though, she looked back at him slowly, hoping that he wouldn't really notice how red her cheeks looked probably at that point.
She tried to focus at what he was asking her, and looked at the shirts he was holding up instead of looking at him. "Um...I'll go with the blue one," she nodded, "matches your eyes." And as she said that, she locked eyes with him for a second, before she decided to look away again, trying to hide her eyes from Ryan for she know how honest her eyes could look sometimes, and it doesn't help that as twins they have easy access to each other's thoughts. She took a deep breath and tried to focus on other things for now, like how wet his bed was at the moment.

Ryan couldn't help but watch Sharpay intently from where he stood by his closet, just watching the subtle reactions cross her face. He couldn't help but notice that she seemed more jittery than normal, something about her seemed different, but that could only be further exemplified by the fact she seemed to be avoiding eye contact with him. "Matches my eyes," He said slowly nodding in agreement, his eyes meeting hers as he suddenly felt his throat dry, shaking his head quickly soon there after, thinking that he was still suffering slightly from the summer heat. "Blue shirt, gotcha." He said as he cleared his throat and replaced the red shirt back into its place in his closet. Once he had the shirt pulled partially over his body he chuckled softly and rotated to face her again slowly. "It's all good now, Shar," He murmured out as he tugged his shirt over his head. "No more albino, so you can look now." He jested out slightly.
"You okay?" He asked as he walked back over to the bed and flopped down beside her, sitting on the edge with his hands on his knees. "You seem...jumpy." He offered out with a shrug, trying to find a better word for her weird actions and behaviors. He looked down slightly, his eyes flitting from the bed covers, letting out a soft groan in exasperation. "My bed is so soaked." He chuckled out again, reaching his hand up through his hair, shaking his head slightly. He shifted slightly on the bed, thinking that maybe for once, he'd tolerate an affront like this, if this was the only consequence he had to suffer, he'd take it in stride.
"I don't think this will dry by tonight," He said to himself softly, patting down the wet bedding that had seeped through to his mattress below. "I'll have to deal with that later," He muttered again slowly before looking back up to Sharpay. "So," He started happily, leaning back on his palms slightly as he fought the urge to cringe. "Now that we're away from the party, what do you want to do?" He asked, the boisterous smile still on his face as he looked at her, suddenly realizing that his heart was starting to beat heavier in his chest.

Sharpay felt her heart do a weird jump again when Ryan flopped down beside her again, it was slowly making her frustrated that she couldn't figure out why the heck she is being weird and why was it with Ryan, of all people. She looked up at him, trying to act as normal as she could. If there's a good time to use her acting skills, then that time is now. "Me...jumpy?" She asked him, feigning obliviousness. "Maybe it's just the air conditioning, because well...I'm still wet, and so is your bed." She almost sighed in relief as Ryan gave her a chance to shift the attention from her to his bed. "Yeah Ry, I doubt it will dry by tonight too so that means you can't sleep on there," she shook her head. "My poor brother has nowhere to sleep," she jested, sticking her tongue out at him.
When she looked back at Ryan and their eyes met again, she felt her heart skip another beat, but tried to not think about it anymore to be able to keep her normal facade. "We can start by me changing into dry clothes as well, since I'm kind of shivering here," she stood up and grabbed Ryan's hand, still trying to ignore the weird feeling. She walked towards the door connecting to her room, dragging her brother just like old times. "And since I helped you pick a shirt, you'd have to help me pick a dress."
She opened the door and stepped into her pink room, looking around. When her eyes rested on her bed, her own dry bed, an idea popped in her mind. "My bed is exactly like yours, right? Except mine has pink covers, and it's dry," she said, grinning at her brother. "Good thing I'm such a good sister who is willing to share it with you, so if you want, you can sleep here with me tonight," she suggested, oblivious to the fact that her smile almost seemed flirty. "So, are you gonna take the offer?" she could feel her heart beat racing once again as she waited for his answer.

Ryan shot out a slight sneer when Sharpay stuck her tongue out at him, chuckling afterwards. "Oh yeah, your poor brother," He muttered, still laughing, with a shake of his head. With a sigh he looked off towards his door. "I could always sleep on the couch, that wouldn't be so bad." He said with a nod, but then decided that once again, something that trivial didn't count at the moment, he just wanted to enjoy the rest of the day he was having with his sister.
He let out a slight sigh, his gaze now returning to Sharpay sitting beside him, locking eyes with her suddenly, feeling his heart beat slightly off rhythm again, his breath hitching slightly and then relaxing. He shook his head, thinking that he must have spent too much time out in the sun and it was messing with him in more than one way. Second time now, what the hell is up with me?. The thoughts seemed to rattle inside his head uncomfortably, thinking that he must be suffering some type of heat stroke. When she spoke again he was slightly started back to focus but he played his zoning off as natural as possible. "Oh yeah, you're still wet." He nodded, chuckling slightly, now remembering what had made his bed so wet in the first place. "We should..." His words were cut off by a slight chuckle coming from deep in his chest as Sharpay dragged him to her room. "That's one way to do it." He muttered to himself softly, glad to see the old Sharpay slowly coming back. "You just want me to help you pick a dress because I know what makes you look good." He said trying to feign some cockiness, but only feeling slightly awkward at his own words as he felt his hand begin to sweat slowly, trying to think in his own head what he had just said.
When Sharpay pulled open her door, Ryan threw up his hand as if pretending to be blinded by the explosion of pink he was met with. "Jeeze," he muttered out, shaking his head again. "I'd forgotten how pink this place was." Looking around the room with a smile, sure pink wasn't his thing, but it had been forever since he'd stepped foot in this room despite it being mere feet away. After releasing his hand from hers and wiping it slowly on his shirt, wondering why he'd gotten so sweaty from that simple action.
When Sharpay started to talk about her bed, he cocked his head in slight confusion as he listened to her words. "Well I was going to sleep on the couch," He said into a shrug as he patted the soft covers of the bed he was sitting on. "And I mean, are you going to be okay with me in your bed?" He asked slightly raising his eyebrows at her questioningly. "I mean, we haven't done that since we were kids." He said chuckling, trying to remember the last time he had shared a bed with her, thinking that it had been a long enough time now. "But if you're okay with it," He started slowly again, calculating in his own head about how at the very least it would be better than the couch. "Then I'm okay with that," He said with a nod and smile, his eyes flitting over to her expansive closet. "So, you said something about a dress?" He questioned softly looking towards her slowly, now wiping his hands fruitlessly on his shorts as he cleared his throat, wondering why he was sweating again.

Sharpay let out a slight giggle as she tried to remember the last time they shared a bed as siblings. That was probably 5 or 6 years ago already, and it was originally only because of her that they had to be on separate beds. "Why would I not be okay with it?" She asked Ryan, raising an eyebrow playfully at him. "You're right Ry, we haven't done that since we were kids so I think it would be fun to do that again, don't you think so too?" She went in front of Ryan, grabbing both of his hands, which he had just wiped on his shorts, and swayed them a bit, as if she was a kid again. Suddenly, she thought about Ryan's hands sweating only when he gets nervous, but she decided not to think of that at the moment. What matters is that they're finally spending time together again, just like old times.
"So yeah, c'mon, you're going to help me pick a dress," she pulled him towards the closet again, and when they got there, she slowly let go of his hands as she looked through her rack of new clothes from their New York trip. "So, Ry, what do you think should I wear? And what color?" She faced Ryan, holding four hangers, two in each hand. She was holding two summer dresses and two sparkly tops and pairs of shorts. "And could you hurry it up, it's kinda hard to hold them all," she said with a hint of sarcasm and playfulness. As she waited for him to decide, she watched his expression, noting every little detail of his face. She had not looked at Ryan that way before, which made her wonder why she was only noticing him only now. And why she was observing him in the first place.
His words echoed in her head once again, You just want me to help you pick a dress because I know what makes you look good. The earlier awkwardness due to his choice of words which she had decided to ignore earlier, was now coming back again. Suddenly, she felt slightly self-conscious as she thought about the fact that Ryan needs to look at her like that to know what would make her look good. It's not as if they had not done that before, in fact, she always asks him for help. He was her own wardrobe consultant. And that's exactly what was starting to bother her, why through all this time it was only now that she was feeling awkward. Maybe I spent too much time under the sun...

Ryan felt his hands sweat again just as soon as Sharpay grabbed his hands and started swaying them, he shook his head slightly and took a breath, thinking that he must be suffering some type of residual effects of heat exhaustion of something. "Well then," He said slowly moving his gaze from his hands and up to meet her eyes, trying to keep himself calm and composed as he looked straight into her eyes. He could feel a small smile tugging on his lips, he had never noticed before the slight honey color of her eyes, and how they seemed to sparkle even now in the dull interior lighting of the room. "Umm, it'll be like a sleepover." He finished with a shake of his head, clearing his throat softly as he finished the sentence he had left hanging.
He was just going to ignore those thoughts, he was clearly not in the best state of mind, but that would all go away after a good night of sleep, that was all he needed, just to get his thoughts in order again. "Yes you nee--" His thoughts were cut off in a laugh as she dragged him to the closet. "Shar, you do know that I am perfectly capable of getting from point A to point B?" He asked, slowly feeling normalcy creep back in, much to his relief.
Once she removed her hands from his, he leaned against the door frame and chuckled. "Oh yeah, because hangers are so heavy" He retorted with a sarcastic edge as he eyed the clothing as she continued to ask him. "I'd go with a top and the shorts," He said with a nod. "You've been in a dress all day, I know you, you like to mix it up," He said with another nod and a soft smile. "And as for color," He continued as he placed his hands on his sides, looking at the clothing quizzically. "I think it's only right that you go with," He started slowly as he reached out and grabbed one of the hangers from her. "Pink and sparkly." He said with a chuckle as he shook the shirt back and forth lightly before returning it to her with a smile.
He wasn't about to admit to her that in this moment, he chose pink and sparkly, because he didn't want to look her over to closely, and a good fall back option to go on was that Sharpay Evans always looked good in pink, so he wouldn't have to worry about her getting mad about his unspecific choice. The problem at the moment that he was facing with himself was he wasn't sure why he was acting so odd around her, especially now when they had done this a million times before, why was it different now?
